Synopsis
When Alexis James arrives at her first assignment in months, she anticipates the danger and violence rife in her calling as a Lycan Hunter. What she doesn’t expect is a handsome, blue-eyed wolf saving her life and kidnapping her. Surrounded by the enemy, Alexis must not only survive her prisoners but the bonds of a different sort that begin to form against her will.
Mikko Kyran was chosen by the gods to lead his pack, and he has made it his mission to end the eight thousand years of war plaguing his people. The Alpha never suspected that the key to the prophecy ending the Forever War would be held by a smart-mouthed, sexy Hunter determined to kill him.
Can two people from different worlds set aside everything they know about one another long enough to survive retribution from the Hunters, the pack, and the gods? Or will their differences start a war that neither can win?
Written with intensity and depth, The Lycan Hunter is the first in a thrilling new series.

My Review
“When the Lycan and the Hunter come to an accord, the fallen goddess will be restored.” ~ The Prophecy
Prior to reading this book I didn't read the blurb or any posted reviews. The synopsis I received with the review request was short and to the point. It gave away very little about the story I would find in the pages that followed. I was hesitant at first, but after reading the Prologue and then first chapter I couldn't put this book down.
Kelsey Jordan created a world of shape-shifters, humans, and gods that allows the reader to see their world as if they are a part of it. The characters take up space in your heart; they become your friend or maybe you become a part of their pack. I found myself either cheering them on, begging them to take another course of action or screaming for their demise. My family would say I was too vested in this book, but I would say it was just that good.
There is a pre-ordained war between the Lycans and the Hunters and the Lycans are winning. Kyran is chosen by the god Othion to be his father's successor and Mikko, of the Blue Ridge Pack. Kyran's goal is to find a way to end the Forever War between the Lycans and the Hunters.
Alexis is a Hunter one of the best females of her kind. Her focus is on killing Lycans and winning the war. Throughout the story, her size is mentioned, so I imagined her to be tiny but a fierce warrior. As a matter of fact, Alexis was the top female hunter in her dwindling race. But that didn't stop the Hunter Elders along with Alexis's parents from attempting to get rid of her by she sending her on a mission to hunt and kill a rogue Lycan
It is while tracking her target that Alexis meet Kyran. Immediately Kyran recognizes her as his Soul's Mate.
“His Soul’s Mate in the body of a Hunter. Impossible, yet there was no denying the radiant golden aura shining around her, like the glow from the sun at someone’s back.”
It is this chance meeting that begins a wonderful romance. Alexis and Kyran both try to deny what they feel for each other. But Kyran felt it worse because being without one Soul's Mate drives a Lycan mad.
But Alexis returns to stay and eventually take her rightful place as Kyran Soul's Mate and wife.
I have given you so much information about the story that I'm afraid may have spoiled it. But there is more to enjoy. You must also visit Gardas and meet Lykil, God of Destruction and his sidekick Torin, who is also Alexis' brother. You must learn about how Alexis and Kyran factor into the prophecy.
Thank you Kelsey Jordan for sharing your world of Lycans and Hunters with me. If you love paranormal romances or stories about shape -shifters, then this books is for you. Kelsey Jordan is a very talented writer, and if the remaining books in the series are anything like this, I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Favorite Scene ~ When Kyran's Pack realizes that he'd been denying himself his Soul's Mate. There are a few other
Favorite Quote “Remember this though: The pack is a family, complete with people you love, like, and just tolerate. There are those who love you, those who like you, and those who simply tolerate you. You’re family. Accept it and move on.”
Kelsey Jordan is the author of The Lycan Hunter, the first book in her Gardinian World series. Though she has a preference for all things paranormal and romantic, Kelsey admits she just writes what her muse demands of her. It’s less painful that way. When she isn’t enjoying the momentary benefits of playing god to the many characters that live in her head, she can usually be found curled up with a book, killing something in a video game, or spending time with her family. At some point in the day she is probably drinking more than her recommended dose of coffee, but don’t tell her that. She doesn’t care about recommended servings.
As a Texas native and self-described Air Force brat, Kelsey now lives in Georgia with her husband and their tutu-wearing minion. Book 2 and 3 of the series will be published by Booktrope Editions late Summer/Fall 2014.
