I don’t know the last time I’ve dived head first into a series and loved every moment of it. I truly got lost in the world of the Grey Wolves and when the series ended I jumped into the spin-off series The Gypsy Healers.
Jacque, Sally and Jen are high school seniors and best friends from Coldspring Texas. They are about to begin their senior year when an exchange student from Romania moves in with the family across the street. Upon seeing the handsome stranger for the first time, Jacque is intrigue and calls her best friends over to discuss the mysterious hottie. These three girls are like sisters, and the dynamics of their relationship made it hard to determine if there was a “true” leader in the group. Jacques seemed to maintain the balance between the extrovert and “resident nympho” Jen and the introvert and Book Smart Sally. As the series goes on each girl learns that love conquers all.
While fighting evil and finding love the girls find that their friendship can withstand anything. Each story is told in alternating point of views by the girl and their true mate. The language changes from being very formal to extremely informal southern colloquialisms and slang. At times, the slang got to be a bit too much, and there were a few editing mistakes but not enough to deter me from reading the book or continuing the series. I found the Jacque Sally and Jen to be silly but likable characters and enjoyed the interactions between the three.
I highly recommend this series to anyone that likes TEEN paranormal stories. The Grey Wolf series is NOT an adult or new adult series. It does not contain strong language, but there are some sexual references and heavy sarcasm. Overall I enjoyed The Grey Wolves series and can’t wait to read more from this author.
I would also recommend downloading Book 1 Prince of Wolves as it’s free then if you like it get the $4.99 Grey Wolves Starter Bundle that includes the first four books in the series. This bundle is the most economical buy as the books are $2.99 each. There is no bundle for remaining five books in the series, and they range from $2.99 to $3.99, but lending is enabled. Visit www.booklending.com to submit a borrowing request.
