BLOG TOUR & REVIEW ❤ Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole

Title: Souls Unfractured
Series: Hades Hangmen #3

Author: Tillie Cole

Genre: Dark Contemporary Romance

Release date: 11th August 2015

"For fractured souls are like magnets.
Drawn to collide into an impossible bliss…"

Labeled a ‘Cursed’ woman of Eve from birth, Maddie has endured nothing but pain and repression at the hands of The Order’s most abusive elder, Moses. Now living with her sister in The Hangmen’s secluded compound, finally, Maddie, is free. Free from the suffocating faith she no longer believes in. Free from endless years of physical and mental torment.

Just… free…

At age twenty-one, the timid and shy Maddie is content to live within the confines of her new home—safe from the outside world, safe from harm and, strangely, protected by the Hangmen’s most volatile member; the heavily pierced and tattooed, Flame.

Flame.

The man who ceaselessly watches over her with his midnight dark and searing eyes. The man who protects her with a breath-taking intensity. And the man who stirs something deep within her numbed heart.

But when circumstances conspire for Flame to need HER help, Maddie bravely risks it all for the broken man who has captivated her fragile soul.

The Hangmen’s most infamous member, Flame, is ruled by one thing—anger. Plagued by haunting demons from his past, an all-consuming rage, and isolated by an abhorrent hatred of being touched, Flame's days are filled with suffocating darkness, pierced only by a single ray of light—Maddie. The shy, beautiful woman he cannot purge from his thoughts. The woman he has an overwhelming need to possess…
... the only person who has ever been able to touch him.

Flame’s mission in life is to protect Maddie, to keep her safe. Until a trigger from his troubled past sends him spiraling into madness, trapping him in the deepest recesses of his disturbed mind.

His Hangmen brothers fear that Flame is beyond saving.

His only hope of salvation: Maddie and her healing light.

Five tortured hearts

Tillie Cole is one of few authors I purchase without hesitation; I don’t even need to read the book blurb before I download. She’s never once disappointed me until now. So why the five stars? The things I loved about the book are the same things that made me walk away. There were times when I said I wasn’t going to finish this book only to return again. The truth is that Tillie Cole is one of few authors that can write a redeemable tortured hero.

Flame’s story is tragic and disturbing. He did not have an easy start in life. While reading the flashbacks to his childhood, I couldn’t help but feel that there was some mental condition that kept him from being “normal”. The diagnosis of autism kept coming to me, but it is never confirmed in the story.  Flame survived isolation, physical abuse, sexual abuse, abandonment, to name a few, before becoming a brother of Hades Horsemen. Once he found these men he found friends for life, especially in AK and Viking.

Maddie is Flame’s savior. She is truly the HEROine in this story. From the moment, she is taken to the Horseman’s compound Flame is her protector. He stands outside of her door or below her window every day or night he isn’t handling Horseman business. Maddie and Flame are drawn to each other like a moth to a flame.  When the time comes for Maddie to protect and save Flame, she does.

The flashbacks to flame’s childhood were so disturbing I wish they could have been left out. But I know they were necessary so that the reader can become acquainted with Flame. I was most annoyed with the use of the term bitch. Yes, I know it was a term of endearment but it’s use seemed out of place. Finally, the book seemed to lack any “romance”. I don’t know if I was looking for hearts and flowers, but I didn’t feel like the story was love building. Maddie and Flames shared some very intimate and comforting scenes but they were not romantic or passionate.
Overall, I would recommend reading Souls Unfractured and the Hades Hangman in order. The stories are written in such a way that they can stand alone but to fully understand and enjoy this book you should read the previously released books first. I would recommend this novel to anyone that loves biker romances or romance novels without explicit sex scenes. Please know that this series does address sexual abuse and violence and cult activity. There is also some exaggeration of religious practices. Please consider the book’s warning prior to purchasing this book or any in the series.

Amazon & USA Today Best Selling Author, Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother — a farmer’s daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
