The last thing Dawn expects is to be placed inside the Winter Lord's prison because of a minor dispute. When he visits her and asks her to marry him, Dawn knows that nothing will ever be the same again. Her entire world is put into a spin, but soon, she realizes that things aren't as they should be. The Winter Lord is hiding something, and when the truth is revealed, she understands that only one thing can save her life ...
Love.
This is a passionate and erotic love story for adult readers. It takes place in a magical fantasy world where the Elders rule the seasons.
Winter's Bride is the first book I’ve read by Nellie C. Lind, and I will definitely pick up another especially in this series. Winter’s Bride contains all the elements of what I believe makes a great fantasy romance story:
✔ Beautiful cover ~ I simply adore this cover.
✔ Intriguing Plot ~ Becoming the bride of a revered Elder is not without problems.
✔ Interesting Characters ~ I loved the Autumn Lord and Mrs. Olien.
✔ World Building ~ I can visualize the town of Evermore.
✔ Magic ~ The changing of the seasons.
✔ Conflicts ~ Both internal and external conflicts further complicate a very sensitive relationship
✔ Happy Ending ~ The reason we read romance novels
Winter’s Bride is easy to read and incorporates fantasy, science fiction, and romance to teach us that even the coldest heart can warm to love. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t to read the next.
I received this copy from the author via IndieSage PR in exchange for an honest review.

“My L ... I mean, Audren. About what happened yesterday ...”
“Yes, I came here to talk with you about that. As you know, I am the judge of this town, and if a law is broken, I judge.”
“Yes, I know ...” Her nervousness awakened within her again. “But I don't understand why I'm here. I didn't do anything.”
“Can you tell me what happened?”
“Well, after our meeting, I looked for my brother Eric. It took me a while to find him, and when I did, he was arguing with Mira. She had broken our mother's milk bottle, and I told her that she had to repay it. She went crazy and pushed me against the building, and that was when the guards showed up. They arrested us, and here we are.”
“I see. If you think about this from the guards point of view, what do you see then?”
Dawn gave it a thought, and when it hit her, she sighed. “They thought I was in danger.”
“Exactly, and the only way to figure out what was going on was to take all of you here and let me judge you. I have already spoken with Mira and your brother. Now it's your turn. Eric has been sent home, but Mira will stay here a few more days to reconsider her actions. A healer will help her with her anger issues.”
“I have already told you what happened. I don't know what else I can give you.”
A glow in white and light blue colors surrounded his hand. The colors swirled around his hand in slow and harmonic movements. A cold chill went through Dawn when she saw it. She knew what it meant.
“Give me your hand, Dawn.”
Dawn fled from the bed with a squeak and pressed herself against the stone wall as far away from his as possible. Surprise filled his marvelous eyes.
“This isn't going to hurt, Dawn. There will only be a tingling feeling.”
Dawn didn't listen. “Please, don't read my mind. Please, I beg you.”
He got up from the bed and approached her. “Dawn ...”
“Anything, but that, My Lord. Isn't reading Eric's and Mira's minds enough?”
Her desperation rose. He couldn't find out how she felt about him! If he did, her entire world would collapse. He would never be hers, so there was no need for him to know. But if he found out and turned her down, it would break her heart. It would destroy her.
“No,” he said. “I need to see the whole picture, and you don't need to worry. Whatever secret I will see, will remain yours.”
She shook her head and couldn't hold back her tears. “You don't understand. You will find out everything about me ...”
“Yes, that's how this works, Dawn.” He stood in front of her with so much understanding in his beautiful eyes that it made her cry even more.
He raised his hand toward her face and dried away her tears with his thumb. Her body trembled, and she didn't know what to do with herself. She was stuck. The door to the cell was behind him. She hadn't heard him lock it, but she doubted she would reach it before he caught her.
“Everything is going to be all right,” he assured her.
Dawn could only watch as he grabbed her hand. There was nothing she could do to stop him. When she felt the tingling feeling he had mentioned, she closed her eyes and hoped that everything would be over fast. His hand was warm, his touch was firm but gentle. She had no idea what went on inside of him, but silence surrounded them for several minutes.
Eventually, she dared to open her eyes and look at him. She didn't know what to expect when she met his gaze. She assumed he knew everything now. Her love, her devotion, her desire and passion for him was probably no longer a secret.
Yes. He knew.
It was written all over his face.
What people are saying about Winter's Bride....
"This is the lyrical, romantic and erotic story of two very interesting people, from two very different worlds. Can they bridge the gap between his reality and hers? Can love be the force that binds two people and changes two worlds forever? Can this awesome force change centuries-old traditions and culture? This is a wonderfully magical evocation of how two lives can come together and change destiny itself and it will keep you turning the pages to see what becomes of Dawn and her love for Audren and what it is that he feels for her ... the very forces of nature combine to weave this story of profound love in a tapestry of magic, intrigue, and passion." - Jennifer K. Brock
