Title: Broken Course (Wrecked and Ruined, #3)
Author: Aly Martinez
Release Date: November 10, 2014
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Blurb
Seven years ago, my life changed forever. One accident and the person I saw in the mirror no longer resembled the woman I used to be. I was lost and confused inside my own body. I felt alone and disconnected from the world, carrying the incredible weight of guilt and loss that wasn't even mine to harbor.
Then fate led me to Leo James. He taught me that crazy could be perfectly normal and it shouldn't hurt to breathe. Don't get me wrong. Leo isn't perfect. He has his own cross to bear, and the truth is, that might be why I fell for him in the first place. But despite everything he does for me, learning to forgive myself is infinitely harder than overlooking the flaws of another.
Now, the secrets and lies of our past have begun to dictate our future—threatening to ruin us before we get the chance to try. Perhaps we were cursed from the start. Or maybe, just maybe, the remnants of our fractured lives will fit together to form one whole, where love isn’t questioned and being happy is…well, easy.
Can a second broken soul be enough to fill the voids of my own? Or will such scarred pasts prove too much for our love alone to overcome?
**Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone.**

My Review
I strongly recommend reading this series in order although each book can stand on its own, the stories are very related, and key points may be missed by reading out of order. When I realized that we were getting closer to the release of Broken Course, I hadn’t determined if I wanted Sarah Erickson to have her happily ever after.. She was so awful in Changing Course that I never forgave her for the way she treated Brett and Jessie. In Stolen Course, when Sarah disclosed to Caleb Manda’s hesitation on setting a wedding date, she was mean and uncaring in her delivery. I hated her along with Caleb and still had a VERY strong dislike for her when truth about that tragic night was revealed. This book didn’t change my overall feelings towards Sarah, but it did soften my heart, resulting in 3.5 softened hearts for Broken Course.
This my first introduction to Leo James as I didn’t read Among the Echos, and he was exactly the type of man that Sarah needed. He knew when and how to push her out of her comfort zone when she was sometimes impossible. Leo is the reason my frozen heart started to melt in regards to Sarah. When I realize that they had a similar history dealing with depression and suicide, it became clear that their inner chaos is what made Leo and Sarah normal together.
Aly Martinez’s writing didn’t disappoint. Again she pulled me in with a gripping prologue that took us back to the Brett and Sarah days. In showing us Sarah’s through Leo’s eyes, Aly gave me reasons forgive Sarah just a tad bit more. But self-centered, mean-spirited Sarah would always raise her ugly head. The story kept my attention, and cemented Aly Martinez as one of my favorite authors, yet great writing and a great male lead was just not enough for me to want Sarah happy ending. I’m rating this book 3.5 hearts but giving the entire series five hearts highly recommending it to anyone that loves a really great story.
Favorite Character ~ Leo James
Favorite Quote ~ "Leo, you showed me that crazy is the new normal and that it shouldn’t hurt to breathe. With once stroke of your fingers across my neck, you make the entire crazy world disappear. That savior I dreamed about may not have looked like you, but I have absolutely no doubt that it was always you. And I think the part I still can’t get over is that I never in a million years could have imagined being able to help you too."
Favorite Scene ~ Brett’s conversation with Leo
