RELEASE DAY BLITZ & REVIEW ❤ Crash by Amity Cross

Title: Crash
Series: The Beat and The Pulse #3
Author: Amity Cross
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: September 22nd 2015

Violet Fuller has been through a lot in her short life.

After being viciously attacked, she’s hidden herself away from the world for the past five years, fearing everyone and everything. That’s until the day she finally gathers the courage to go outside.

Violet decides to take a job at Ash’s new gym, Pulse, to reacquaint herself with the male dominated world of MMA. She used to be her brother’s biggest supporter, going to all his matches and cheering him on. There’s no one he trusts more to help him run the admin side of his new business, but when Violet walks through the door for the first time, she sees someone she wasn’t expecting.

Handsome, AUFC fighter, Lincoln Hayes.

The same Lincoln Hayes that she’s had a crush on since she was sixteen.

All muscled, disciplined, hot as hell, six-foot two of him. He’s definitely not a boy anymore.

Things are about to become more difficult than Violet had hoped. So much for easing back into reality.

And Lincoln? He’s only got one thing on his mind.

How do you win over a woman who is afraid of everything?

Simple.

You fight.

My Review

Crash is the third book in The Beat and the Pulse series by Amity Cross.  We met Violet and Lincoln in the previous books in the series. Violet is Ash’s sister and had been the victim of a violent crime, while Lincoln, an AUFC fighter was training for the upcoming fighting circuit. Five years after her attack Violet is still not the young woman she once was. Fear paralyzes her, and the slightest touch can trigger an anxiety attack. She wants her life back. Lincoln returns home to Melbourne to recover from an injury. Amity Cross gives her readers something from the usual darkish stories we’ve come to expect from her.

Overall, I found Crash to be an ok read, but I don't believe it added to the series. Violet's story should have made me feel for her, but it didn't. I was mostly frustrated at being in her head. There were a few times I found her to be relatable, but those were few and far between. I loved Lincoln! He made a several bad decisions, but he was a very likable hero.  Once Violet and Lincoln found their way to each other I expected more. More passion, more conflict, more something, but there was none.  Crash did open the door to Spike, and I can't wait to read that.

If you are looking for sweet, easy read then this story is for you.

Amity Cross isn't her real name. That's no secret.
She is the author of wicked stories about rock stars looking for redemption, gritty romances featuring MMA fighters and dark tales of forbidden romance. She loves to write about screwed up relationships and kick ass female leads that don't take s**t lying down.
Amity lives in a leafy country town in southern Australia and can be found chained to her desk, held at ransom by her characters.

Don't send help. She likes it.
